Important contracts that have been negotiated by the Manx Government over time would appear to be deeply flawed. In some respects, it seems that people have little faith in government‑negotiated contracts being good or robust. Whatever the outcome of this debate her in Isle of Man, that underlying problem, which this issue is a proxy for needs to be fixed.
Contracts of this nature do need to be publicly available, including those relating to roads, health, and every major sector. If greater transparency didn’t bring in savings of £10 million or more in the first year, I would be very surprised.
